I have been informed that since Joanne posted a few things on her blog I need to end my blog strike, so here it is, folks! Also...here is the only page that I have managed to scrap in the past MONTH! I've actually been pretty busy. I worked 50 hours the week before last, and, actually, I have something else that we've been working on that I want to share! :) We're not anywhere near finished, but my Sweetie hooked me up to google analytics today, so I want to see visits from you all!! Without further ado... Apple Blossom Studio. I sent my first set of stamps to be made THIS MORNING! :) :) so..yeah...I'm excited! :) heh. (also...Joanne...anyone else using a mac for that matter..it's a little messed up on the mac right now, hopefuly we can fix it monday!) We are staying up until about 2 this morning just working on stuff here in the office, I'm waiting up for the Poppy Ink July kit reveal. :) And I have the latest Blueprint mag to keep me company! :) Thanks to anyone who has read this...and not given up on me ever blogging again! :) Soon I will have a brand new bright and shiny blog to share! :)

Wow...so...I've been wanting to share layouts for almost a week now, but the weather was not cooperating, and the sun didn't want to shine...so I couldn't take photos. And actually today..I got pictures taken of exactly one layout before it clouded up and started to rain and I had to wait for it to clear up so that I could finish....but I did finish. :) I hope you enjoy these. He he he...actually only a couple are my own designs...several were inspired by other scrapbookers...or scraplifted form other scrapbookers...or inspired by layouts in magazines...or inspired by website designs. Enjoy! :)

I don't know how to print my comments, so I just wrote numbers 1-14 on little pieces of paper, put them in a bowl, and drew number 3! Number 3 I believe was Francine, so Francine, you can email me your address at joylynn@gmail.com and I will send my little package off to you! :)

Ok, so...Joanne, no, I do not NEED everything money can buy...but sometimes I feel like I WANT lots of things I don't have the money for. Ah well...on to bigger and better things! :)

I found this super cute sketch here and I was in love! So I made this layout of my cute pregnant sisters based on it, and used it for the inspiration of the photo placement in the Hayley layout. I'm really addicted to the 12x12 right now...I haven't done an 8.5x11 (other than that anniversary 2-pager) in quite a while...but I have some pictures of my nephew Timmy hunting easter eggs that I might use for some 8.5x11...if I feel the urge. :)

In other news...I am craving chinese tonight...BAD!...but we've been eating out way too much lately, so I really need to fight it!

:) Got to celebrate my friend Audra's wedding today, that was cool. I love Saturdays...time with my sweet hubby and time with friends, fun stuff! :) So...pretty much one of my favorite parts of the day was on our way home from the wedding when my love was like...in a very Dwight manner...."If I were a superhero I would wear a tux, and carry a sword...no...a bow staff...no...a bow staff AND a sword, but the sword just because it looks cool." It made my day...and we went on to talk more about our love for The Office. :) I just love Dwight, he is something else...also Rainn Wilson is pretty much comedic genius, I'm telling you. I hope you're all having a great weekend, I know I am! :)

More Birthday Celebration!

We had a fun weekend full of celebrating birthdays and Easter with family...I would love to show you some pictures, but I am afraid that I have not yet gone through the 142 photos...perhaps tomorrow! :) One thing I did start yesterday is going through my iPhoto and deleting a bunch of unneccessary photos to hopefully make it run a bit faster...cause right now it goes SO SLOW! Also...in other celebration news, I went to Starbucks...cause they had these really cute mugs that go with my ice cream bowls...and they were on clearance, so I picked up a couple with some of my birthday monies, so that was exciting, I will have to take a picture of them sometime this week. :) Also...yesterday I did the Joanne Workout DVD, and killed my legs with the lunges, man I am sore, so I did not repeat today, heh...maybe tomorrow. :) It's a fun workout, Joanne, I like the little breaks best...oh yeah...and the part where you just throw in a random kick, that's cute! :) And of course...the TIGHTS! ;) Love ya! Do you do your own workout DVD? ...just wonderin'! :) Anyway, that's all the news I have for now...I will try to write some more tomorrow and hopefully show you more pictures. :) For now, here is my layout about our 1st anniversary. :)

I had a great birthday yesterday. :) I got several birthday phonecalls and cards and such, and I had a great date with my Hubby. :) I had coupons for lots of free birthday things, so we went to Noodles & Company, and I ate free noodles, that was nice. That's my favorite plae to eat. :) And my Sweetie got me my favorite movie, Stranger than Fiction, maybe we'll get a chance to watch it this weekend, that would be nice. :) He also got me a fun travel yahtzee game that I wanted and some other yummies :).

Tonight we are celebrating with his fam, having pizza and ice cream cake, yummy!! :) I also got cards from my momma and grandma today, and spent my birthday moneys on stuff to organize my scrappy stuff and on a new trimmer...I got the fiskars rotary one...I like it, but I'm still getting used to it, perhaps I will review it for you all. :)

Birthday Celebration Days 3&4!

I didn't get around to posting yesterday cause...well, we've had a rough week! Sunday we discovered a stench like that of a dead animal in our bedroom....only to discover that it really was a dead animal, ha! He he he...Where our bedroom is now there used to be an old wood burning stove...it is not there anymore, but there is still a big pipe thing that sticks out of the wall about a foot and a half, and it leads up to the chimney. Well, a couple of weeks ago we heard some scratching around in there like a bird or small animal had somehow gone down the chimney and couldn't get out...so...yeah...Monday night after Jason got off work we moved stuff around and geared up and retreived the dead squirrel from the pipe, and then proceeded to fill the thing with spray foam insulation...so that we would not have any future visitors...but the stench remained...which brings me to my celebration of day 3. :) Tuesday I went and picked out a nice smelling candle to burn to get rid of the smell. :) I burned it both yesterday and today, and I no longer smell any dead animal, and it is a wonderful thing! :)

And...I didn't get around to posting last night, cause my sweetie had some car troubles, and we ended up spending the evening replacing his car battery. :) But all is well now, and we get to relax a little. Also...I celebrated day 4 today when I got a package from Joanne. :) She sent me a book that I had fun looking through and getting some ideas from, and she wrote me a fun little letter :)

Here is a layout of me and my mommy...this layout is for the celebration of day 2 of my birthday month, about a special birthday tradition at my house when I grew up. :) Jillian, if you see this, Mom wants to see this layout, so please show her! :) Thanks! I loved making this, cause I got to use lots of buttons...but my fingers were SO sore from sewing them all on! :)

And here is some more 12x12 love. I've been into doing 12x12 pages lately instead of my usual 8.5x11...don't know why...but it's fun to try new things. These are a couple of my faves...sorry about the crooked pictures and the glares on my Magen page...if anyone has tips for photographing layouts with transparencies without a glare, they would be much appreciated!

I am celebrating my birthday all of this month, and wanted to share a picture from day1. :) My friends Christy and Hilary got together yesterday and baked me some super-yummy cupcakes, and Hilary brought them to me at church this morning, Isn't that totally fun!? I am so so excited about this month! My birthday is on the 5th, but I will be celebrating ALL month, so you have until the 30th to send me a card! ;) Love you all, and happy April!

Ha ha...oh yeah...and sorry about the bad hair day!! It was raining today, and my hair didn't appreciate it much!

Several years ago my friend Magen started a Christmas gift for me, which I finally got this year! :) So, this present is a series of notebooks with a letter for me to read each day this year, and in this notebook she tells me about all these CRAZY holidays and stuff that I'm supposed to celebrate! :) I'm not all that good at actually "celebrating" them, but recently I have found that I do better if I read each letter a night early and have a little time to plan how I will celebrate! :) Anyway, last night before bed I read that today is "organize your home office day" and I was totally excited! So...if I can get these pictures to load...blogger is hating me this morning!....you will have the befores, and hopefully by later today, I will have some really good afters for you! :)

Well...as of right now, Wednesday March 14th 7:47AM Blogger says, "too bad, no pictures for you!"

I've been a bad blogger and gone for more than a week without sharing several times lately, so I wanted to make sure to get one more in this month, so I thought I'd share some more scrappy pages, since you all seem to like that sort of thing! :)

Several of these pages were done from the sketches in the Jamie Waters article in the March issue of Creating Keepsakes Magazine. She is just amazing to me, and I could look at her stuff for hours!

I am SO almost done with the pictures of the little ones from Christmas, so proud of myself, fo actually scrapping the 100+ pictures that I had printed! :)

By the middle of next month CK will have chosen their HOFers and I can share a bunch more layouts that I am so proud of...but I'm not really anticipating a shortage of layouts to share anytime soon, cause I've been super scrappy this year!

I also wanted to share an update on my "who wants to be a superhero" stuff. I haven't given up on it...it's just been hard to work on, cause we've been sick around here and gone all of last weekend. This week I hope to fill out a rough draft of my application and sew my cape...I'm done with my dress, I just don't have the fabric for my cape yet. It would be nice to get my audition tape done this weekend, we'll see how that goes! :)

Yep, Rose is a snake, but she's a nice one!

Jason and I went on a little trip to camp this weekend. We help out with the Jr. High youth group at church, and this past weekend we went with them to Timber-lee's Winter X-treme. It was pretty cool, but also SO SO cold...and the last day was REALLY wet! My favorite part was probably the Creation Walk in the animal building. We went early and played with all of the animals, I mostly played with Rose the whole time. The creation walk was really cool...they had a different room for each day of creation, and it was just really neat!

This is the card I made for my Sweetie ...the front anyway, I won't mortify you with the lovey-dovey/ cheesy/ sappy inside, but I will tell you that it is spectacular! :) We got to have a lunch date together today, it was nice, we went to a chineese place and ate way too much! I think my favorite was the egg drop soup, it was the best I had ever had. :)

After lunch I took a little trip to Jo-Ann Fabrics to find a fabric to use for my costume...didn't find EXACTLY what I was looking for, but I think I like what I found, can't wait to start on my dress! It looks like a pretty simple pattern actually...so depending on whether or not I decide to bake tomorrow, you should be seeing it pretty soon! I didn't find the right material for my cape yet...so I will worry about that after I get the dress done. I read through the application tonight, WOW! Can you say NINE pages of intense drilling?! I'm thinking positively, though, cause we've been working on my superhero persona for almost two years now...maybe longer, and she's pretty well-thought-through. The hardest questions are the ones that try to separate my character from myself, though, cause really, she has come to being through my real life and my life experiences, it will be tough!

Oh, and several of you asked questions...Joanne, the show is on the Sci-Fi Channel, and LA, it is indeed a TV show, a show where people have made their own superhero personas and they compete to have STAN LEE do a comic book about them!!! They also get a movie and stuff like that, I think...but Stan Lee is like....oh man, to just get to meet him would be amazing to me!! And for those of you who don't know who Stan Lee is, he is the guy that invented SPIDER-MAN!!

So, Joanne, I am very happy to take on your lifestyle challenge to get me into shape for this...cause these big hips (and other parts) will need to look good in my skimpy costume! (It's not THAT skimpy...but...you know!) :)

I have this...superhero fantasy...where someday, I get to be a real superhero. So, I was very excited today when I found a casting call announcement in my inbox!! They're getting ready for the second season of "Who Wants to be a Superhero?" I am PSYCHED! I need to work on my costume and audition tape now, which is also very exciting...hopefully I can show you all a costume by next week! I can't even tell you how bad I want this! AAHHH!! So, you know, keep me in your prayers on this one!!!

Today my Sweetie is an old old man of 25, that's a quarter of a century, folks! :)

This weekend was fun, we got to meet Matt and Shelsey and Magen and Micah in Kenosha for Noodles & Company and a Jelly Belly tour! We had a lot of fun. Shelsey got a really big Rice Krispies treat at N&C.....and Micah bought 8 pounds of Jelly Beans! :)

I'm not really big into making resolutions, but I saw a really good one on the Fiskateer Blog, so I'm going to try to make a simple card with scraps from each layout I do. So if I scrap anywhere near as much this year as I did last, I should be set on cards for a while! :) So...if you don't get a birthday card from me...remind me! Cause it's only the 3rd, and I have a couple of homeless birthday cards bumming around already!! Speaking of birthdays ...Happy Birthday to my little sister Jillian! I bet she's about...17?! by now...oh my goodness, I'm getting old!! I just got 103 new pictures printed last night, but I've decided not to let myself scrap any of them until I get my office into some semblance of order. I scrapped this page yesterday ...but none of it was even done at my scrap desk...it was done on my lap...so if I'm going to take less than 103 years to scrap those Christmas pictures, I'm going to have to get that desk cleared off! I took some time before we left to organize my past 4 month's patterned paper purchases, but I think I need to go through the rest of my supplies and maybe find a less central home for all the stuff I never use. That would be great! So, if I get done with the office today, maybe I can tackle the bedroom tomorrow! Everything is all crazy from the trip...need to unpack and such. :) Have a great day, all!

:) I finally got around to making one of these cutie-cute button trees! I finished Jason's stocking this morning, (actually I still have to sew the hangy-loop on) isn't it the cutest?! It was so funny, I was talking to Jenny yesterday and she said that she made Nathan a stocking with a skull with candycane crossbones and a santa hat, and here I am, making one for Jason with a robot holding christmas lights. :) I think it turned out REALLY cute! He he he. :)

Big Mac

Ever since I moved up here to Wisconsin, now more than a year and three months ago, Jason and I have been talking about how someday I'm going to eat a Big Mac. And guess what? Last night, I did! :) It was pretty exciting for me, actually, but it wasn't as BIG as I had imagined, and I actually had no problem finishing it AND helping Jason with a few of his fries. I probably won't have one again anytime soon, I'm perfectly content with my dollar menu double cheeseburger, but now I can say that I've had one! :) So, my challenge to any of you who have never had a Big Mac, is to go try one...I mean, come on, it's like...the American way, or something. Heh.

Journaling: Thanksgiving 2005-you and me in Kansas with my family-You took me out to Coronado Heights that morning to "take pictures." You asked me to marry you!! After laughing and crying, I said yes. :) The whole way home you told me the story of the hardest secret you ever had to keep! I am so grateful to the Lord for you!!

Jason proposed to me on Thanksgiving, cause he thought that would make it easier to remember the anniversary of our engagement. We informed him that Thanksgiving is on a different day every year...he wasn't so happy about that, so we decided we would just celebrate it on Thanksgiving instead of on the 24th. :)

So...for all of you who have missed me...our internet has been CRAZY this week...and at first we thought it was our provider's fault...but it somehow seems that our modem and BOTH routers got fried!! How weird is that!? I dunno...it's weird to me, so we only have internet on one computer at a time right now until we can replace one of the routers.

I used MM paint, the tiny letter/number stickers are MM.
It was crazy...cause you couldn't overlap things...like...I had circles cut out of patterned papers...but the 3 patterned papers had to be separate from the 4 circles! :) Anyway, it was fun, and I actually do like the way it turned out, and to me, everything looks like it has an actual reason to be on the page! :) Thanks for looking, guys (gals!)! :)

Costumes

Jason had his Halloween party with the guys at work on Saturday night, so pretty much all day Saturday we were working on his costume, but it was fun. Heh, at first I tried sewing his shovel holster...which, by the way, was made out of a really ugly purse from Goodwill. :) So, I totally bent the needle on my machine, and ended up pretty much stapling the entire thing together! It was an adventure for sure! My costume came together pretty easily, cause I wore the same thing last year, heh, but the dress was a bit more snug this year than last. So we headed out to the party, got a little lost several times on the way there, and finally made it. It was fun to see people's costumes, and they had fun halloween-y treats, and a haunted basement and a magic show, very cool...but my favorite part was at the end when the dry ice punch bowl arrived, dry ice is so much fun to play with! Anyway, it was a good time. :)

So that we're all on the same page here...this is the Shoveler. There is a movie, Mystery Men, about a misfit group of superheros, and he is one of the characters. If you have not seen it, I totally recomend it, with the exception of probably one scene. So, that is who Jason is going to dress up as for the Halloween party this weekend...so far we have the yellow hard hat and a headlight...so we need to get a little more done!! He he he, it will be fun, though. :)

I won a little skeleton girl and a CD and some candy on Elsie's blog today, out of like...600 people, I'm very excited for that! ...to those of you who are wonderful enough to check this thing everyday! I love you guys! (or gals as the case may be!) I've had kinda an off week, kinda depressed and such, and not feeling my best. I feel kind of identity-less without a job...and it's not like I have friends I can hang out with, heh. My Hubby works a lot, and so my days are rather boring and monotonous, you know? So...that is the reason for my depression, I suppose...but I've had enough crying for a while, and I need to snap out of it! I actually had a really good week, scrap-wise...I won that wonderful $50 paper trimmer from MM, can't wait 'til I get it, the blade in my current trimmer is dulling REALLY quickly! I had aother oportunity come up, where I just do a couple of online surveys each month for a company, and they send me some scrap goodies, very cool! Also, I won last week's HMITM challenge, and will receive a prize for that, which is all sorts of exciting! :)
So, I shall leave you with a fun scrap page I did the other day and finally got around to uploading! :)

I didn't make it to the next round of MM Idol, (but I am totally ok with that!) I voted for Jennifer Pebbles, I like her digi-paper hybrid stuff, I could look at it for hours! She made it to the next round, so I am very excited to see what the top five have in store for us! :)

So, I have to tell you, I woke up this morning and went to check my email...as is customary for me in the morning, and I had an email that said that out of almost 1000 entries into the Making Memories Idol contest, I was one of the 20 finalists!!!!! You have no idea...like...this gave me heart palpitations!! Oh dear, I can still almost not believe it, except that I went to the website and SAW my stuff there! I've been really into MM stickers lately, I love all the velvet ones, and the tiny alphas are INGENIOUS, they are pretty much my favorite things to use in minibooks. So, for this minibook for Ali's challenge this week I used paint chips, mini photos, office supplies, and MM stuff, very fun!! It's so easy to put something together quickly when you choose a few products and repeat them throughout. :) The book is only about 4x3, very easy to get done quickly, it was fun!

Happy 6 Month Anniversary!

We've been married half a year today! :) Man, time has just flown by, huh? When I was younger half a year seemed almost like an eternity, but man, it feels like just last week we were getting married!! Crazy!

So, I get to go have lunch with my Sweetie for our anniversary today, yay! :) I love getting to have lunch with the most wonderful man in the world.

We had a pretty fun and tiring yesterday...after church we went to have lunch over a Pastor Paul & Lisa's house to talk about youth group, that was fun. Thank we came home and cleaned out Jason's car so that we could pick up a couple of kids for youth group, then we watched K-Pax on TV...it was weird, but very interesting! Then we got ready and left to pick up some kids and headed to the adventure we call Jr. High Youth Group! Wow, those kids have A LOT of energy! We played some getting to know eachother games, had a Bible lesson, played capture the flag, and ate some cookies and brownies. I feel like such an old woman though...I had to RUN in capture the flag and now my HIP is totally out of whack! Oh well...that happened to my OTHER hip just last week from doing pilates...but after a few days it felt better, so it's all good. He he he, they're really good kids, though, they're friendly and include everyone, I like them.

Also, I'm excited to get to start work on another minibook this week, the first issue of Ali Edwards' email newsletter is out and we are challenged to make a minibook of some of our favorite things, I'm stoked! Yay!

I got Romani for cheap at HL this AM, gotta love that!

I had lunch with my Sweetie-Pie today, that always makes me happy!

I applied to be a tour guide at Jelly Belly, which would be SO fun!

I came home and had a 2peas gift certificate from my wonderful SSS in my inbox!!!

I ordered a bunch of really totally amazingly beautiful papers and didn't have to pay for them due to that gift certificate from my awesome Secret Sister!! :)

The only thing that wasn't so cool about today was that my LSS didn't have the stickers that I need to finish my honeymoon album, but Linda said they would be in today or Monday and that she would call me, so it's all good! :)

Since I haven't done ANY scrapping yet today, maybe I should get started on some of that before 6, huh? This picture...is my beautiful Starbucks ice cream bowls...my photoshopped version of it, did that yesterday. :) Jason's gonna teach me some photoshop stuff this weekend, so I can make that picture look even better! :)

Last time I talked to Jenny she wanted to know if I had done anything with Alex's bath pictures... and I hadn't even printed them yet, so I got right on that, and I even made a 2 picture layout, go me! :)

I've been working a lot on my wedding album now that I have some no worky time... and it is SO cool, my wedding album, I mean, not not working... I LOVE our wedding album it is SO pretty!! I can't wait to get more done, I think I have 7 pages so far, totally feels good, after having that silly 12x12 album sitting there for 5 months now! There was just something a little boring and not right about going with an all red-black-white color scheme, so I changed it up, and I really like it! Anyway, I'll stop talking about it!

I did something new and very exciting today!! (exciting to me at least!) After Jason left for work...I had this IDEA!!!...so I got on his computer and used photoshop! WOW...I had a really hard time with it at first, and eventually gave up, but THEN...after my shower and some thinking, I figured out how to do what I wanted...and even though it may not be spectacular to anyone else, I was very impressed with myself...and now I TOTALLY can't wait to get a real computer, and photoshop, and learn how to actually USE it, for REAL! Heh...wow.

I submitted stuff to CK and SS both today, heh, I guess you can't get published if you don't try, right? Well, you probably can...if people notice you and stuff, but I have to try, so I am, and it's kinda fun. :) It would be even more fun to actually be put in the magazines! :)

I'm going to Awana training tonight...I guess I miss the Cubbies too much, should be fun! :)

Some of you have asked about the top page in the last post...it is actually an effect from a movie that I have wanted to mimic...if you have seen "Win a Date With Tad Hamilton" (one of my favorite movies ever!) you may...or may not have noticed, you only see it for about two seconds...(I will have my hubby take a screen shot of this for me) the orange bedspread in Rosie's hotel room when she goes out to Cali...it has like...these big orange square sequins attached with beads...and I loved it, ever since I first saw it, so that's what I did on this page...(did this page the morning after watching that with my Hubby last week :) I cut a bunch of pieces of vellum and sewed them on with a little seed bead. ;)

In other news...I just went on a walk actually, to return a movie, and I'm not going to do that again soon, until I forget what my hands feel like right now! They are so swolen that I can hardly move my fingers, ach! It hurts so bad. Oh well, stick to the pilates, I guess! :)

Also, LA: the paper in the Alex one is by Heidi Grace (for Fiskars.) That line is totally cute, they also have ones that have like fuzzy parts or where parts are embossed, they're way fun...but expensive, so I just bought the regular ones! :)

that's my life, pretty much, I could share some layouts maybe, maybe tomorrow I will, I've had a pretty busy weekend, actually. Yesterday Jason and I watched Ferris Buhler's day off...don't know if I spelled that right, and went to his company picnic thing, and the weather behaved, but it was a bit chilly...until we started playing football, and I caught the ball once and ran a little ways...no TD or anything, but I did good, and there was a cute kid there, he was fun, and he said funny things, makes me look forward to having children. Then...last night...we...well, I don't even remember, oh well. Today we went to church and ran some errands and...I worked on my SSS rolodex swap cards, they're going to be really cute! :) Then Justin and Misty came over and we played an entire game of double 12 train dominos...or whatever you call it, it was fun, but I didn't win, oh well, then we all sat around and ate pizza. Fun, eh? I got a lot of cleaning done Friday, hope to do some more tomorrow, yay! :)

I am now unemployed. Worked my last day at the old Harbor House yesterday...there are some things I'll miss...not things so much as people, Audrey, Eleanor, Phyliss, Fran...but I can go visit my lovely ladies, so it's all good. So, the challenge for day... yesterday ...9 I guess, was to get real ...which I needed, some serious therapy, you know, I came home from work, showered, laid in bed and cried for hours, until my sweetie came home to comfort me ...it was so bad, I really can just no longer stand my job ...I gave notice last week ...so I only have tomorrow, Monday, and Tuesday left to work ...unless I decide that I want to stay 4 more days so that I've been there a year so that they'll pay me my unused PTO...but that is "totally up to me." I just don't know if I can stand that many more days of it, oh well, I guess it will all figure itself out within the next couple of weeks, right? Anyway, my Sweetie finally got home and I cried some more about my pathetic little life, heh, and then he took me out to rent a movie, any one I wanted ...we watched Shopgirl. I...am still not sure what I thought of it, all I know is that it made me very thankful for eHarmony.com, and it made me want to paint my walls green ...the rest of it...is kind of a blur...I just didn't "get" it, I guess, oh well. Anyway, so, after my Sweetie left for work this morning I stated work on a little "thank you" card for him ...also known as a mini-book ...because he, and his love for me, is what is real to me right now in my life .....and here are a few pictures, and I'll probably post the entire thing on 2peas...and I'll link it up here after the fact. On milking cows...

So...I've gotten a little behind here, sorry! Tuesday, I milked cows, milking a cow is something that I have always wanted to do, and I finally got to!!!! :) I was so so happy! My friend Denise, from work, is a farm girl, her parents have cows, and for the longest time we've talked about her teaching me how to milk a cow, and it finally happened!!! Now, it's not as easy as they make it look, mind you, well, I guess it is after you've done it for YEARS, but it wasn't for me...I just felt bad squeezing the cows' tits so hard!!! You know? ...but you have to squeeze pretty hard. So...you don't really sit on a bucket next to the cow and milk it...it's more like there is a big... parlor.... they open the door and there's all these cows...they come in...and six of them line up on either side...in these like...stall things, with their backsides facing you, and the process begins!! So...After I get these photos uploaded and developed, I'll probably be making a mini-album... cause I am a bit mini-album crazy at the moment!

Also...that one that looks like a little deer...it's a baby cow! And the one Denise is feeding...that's the calf that was born the day I went out there...we went out to see the cows in the barn, and there as a new baby!! And it's mother's udder was HUGE!!!! It almost hung down to the ground, looked pretty painful!

Day 7's challenge was journaling ....to sit down for 10 minutes and write about your dream job or studio or life or whatever...so I figured, I'm all caught up on these, and I don't have to work today...I could do a whole mini-album about my dream studio...so I did. :) Here are a few pictures...I'll probably post the whole thing here or something...probably tomorrow...after I learn how to milk a cow. :) (it's up!) :) For those of you who don't know, I've always wanted to milk a cow, and Denise, a girl I work with, is teaching me how tomorrow, and I am SOOOOOOOO excited!

Here are my pages for5 & 6 ...I ran out of time to post last night ...and I was so glad that today's challenge was a quick one...oh, I guess I should tell you what the challenges were! #5 was a color challenge to explore what different emotions are evoked by various colors ...so I just went with a page about my favorite color, pink, and talked a little about how it makes me feel. #6 was a 10 minute challenge!! How cool! I actually took 20 on mine, all inspired by the movie we watched tonight, IQ...the little logo and slogan are both stolen from it. :) I took 10 minutes to x-acto the logo, and 10 to rub on the slogan ...maybe sometime I'll add journaling to this page ...or make a new one with journaling, about how Jason proposed to me at the top of the castle!! :) He's so great ...for some reason the day of our engagement keeps bringing itself to my mind lately. :) Happy thoughts.

Repetition.

Day four our challenge is to use repetition ...and I chose to repeat my color, the color of pink! I used most of the pink embelish- ments that I could find, brads, mini brads, crystal brads, flower brads, ribbon, rick-rack, buttons, flower sequins, acrylic tiles,eyelets, stickers, chipboard hearts, and using felt the other day made me want to use it more, so I made a felt flower, it was fun. This sweetie picture is of my niece Hayley, what a cutie! I like having little nieces, cause it's all the excuse that I need to use a lot of pink! :) :)

...thanks to Rhonna, that listening to music while scrapping makes my pages COLORFUL! ...or at least that was the outcome today! :) I blasted my music to pump me up...which was hard ...cause most of the music in my itunes isn't hard music, it's soft, but oh well, there were a lot of fairytale songs somehow in the ones that I picked ...some Beauty and the Beast, and a little Faith Hill, Derek Webb and Chris Rice ...Jars of Clay too. (I think there was some Cline Dion, also!)
I had to photograph this, cause it will probably be next century before the fabric paint is dry!

...and it wasn't even supposed to be! We went to Kenosha today to check out Hobby Lobby and get an application for me...and then Jason showed me where he's going to work...just drove by the building...and on the way home, he took a wrong turn, and we got to see the drive-in theatre that he saw the last time he took a wrong turn and then went for an adventure looking for the Jelly Belly Factory, and found it! Just a spontaneous sort of thing! So...we didn't wait around for a tour, we'll do that next time when we plan to spend all day there...but we went inside the store and it was a great place!! We had so much fun, and ate a lot of candy! I just can't wait to go back, or work there!
And for those of you who have been following...I made it through the first round in "Last Scrapper Standing" and have finished my LO for the second! I don't really plan to make it farther...cause there really is just SO much talent competing...but who knows, right?!? Anyway, I should go, Have a great week!

...and my secret is that I HOARD the stuff, I have way way more than I use, and when I use it, I only use it with other Winnie's Walls stuff, it's almost tragic how co-ordinated my Winnie's Walls layouts are...it makes me want to just stick a bunch of mis-matched scraps on a page together...or at least use some Winnie's Walls with something else, so that's tomorrow's goal. Sigh.

Elsie's book...

I have found Elsie's book to be one of the best sources of scrapbooking inspiration EVER! I brought it to work with me this weekend to look at when I had a chance, but it was like TORTURE, cause I couldn't look at it for more than about five minutes without feeling like I needed to scrap something! So...I came home from work those days feeling a need to create, and create I did! But...I won't show them all to you, but a couple of cutie ones... probably of the babies, I even used one of the free Elsie fonts for the big star thing on the Alex layout! So much fun! And I did another Hayley one today, inspired by the cover of the ME book...which happen to be the pub ad challenge for this week... but I'll have to show you that tomorrow. Enjoy!

And...my ugly page...at first I thought it was ugly, then it started to grow on me, and then I looked with fresh eyes, and think it's uglier than EVER! (but i love it anyway!)

I had to work a half day today but came home and got quite a bit of scrapping done, yay! I did a Magen page and the one about my first scrap class, and worked on my honeymoon album, which I am almost finished with, yay!! All I have left in there is my St. Louis pages and my Illinois stuff, that will be great to have finished, and then I will totally (maybe) be getting to work on my wedding album...it's just so big, he he he, I don't even know if my scrap desk is big enough for it!! :) Ah well, we shall see! I finished my Elsie Page, did an Alex page, and here is my HMITM for this week...
I feel so productive when I've been scrapping, you know? Now the next step is to clean up my scrapping area...since I haven't done it since my trip to Missouri, a lot of stuff is still packed, and lots of stuff is still in bags, I totally need to get my patterned papers organized again!!

Superman Returns Tomorrow!

I'm too too excited! We've been waiting so so long, cause we want to see it in IMAX with the 3D, and I have tomorrow off and get paid tomorrow, so we're going! I've been working on some totally fun and time consuming stuff this week, so it may not look like I've been too productive, but when you do three hours of embroidery on ONE page...you can't get EVERYTHING done! I totally can't wait to get my "Meeting Elsie" page all done to show you! I'm working on an Alex page tonight, it's way cute, using the Oh Baby Boy! stuff which I LOVE!!
Joanne-the teacandles TOTALLY roast the marshmallows, it just takes a while!
Magen-I would love it if you told Princess Ruth about my blog, I love LOTS of people to read and look at my stuff!!

Fun "date" last night!

My hubby and I roasted marshmallows over teacandles last night while watching a superman thing, and it was really fun. The funny part, and the cause of the shocked-looking pictures, is that we both broke up our chocolate the same way to put on our graham crackers...and then we looked at eachother like that simultaneously, it was SO funny!

I was so so excited cause I had wanted to buy this book anyway..cause it has Elsie in it, and I just LOVE her stuff! I went down to Springfield, MO this weekend to take some classes from the fabulous Elsie Flannigan!! She is my favorite scrapbooker in the whole world, and I adore her stuff, and it was so much fun to get to meet her and learn from her, find out a little more about her process, and to get to know her a little. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed myself! Poor Jason I'm sure was bored all day, he's the most wonderful husband in the world and was kind enough to go down with me so that I wouldn't have to go all alone and do all the driving, he's AMAZING! So, here are some pictures of projects that we did...The hometown book, the favorite family photos book, the me layout and the button love layout, SO much fun! None of them are finished yet, but finishing them will be so much fun!! So, that is my project for this week, is to finish all of these!! I hope I can do it!

So...I've been feeling REALLY inspired in my scrapbooking lately, so I actually have quite a few pages that I've done in the past couple of days that I would like to share..so I'm not going to say much, I'm just going to show my pages...by the way...one of my favorites is "the LOVE list" which was done for a combination of this weeks dare (a list) and the "how much is too much" challenge...to use 50 stickers...I used 113!! I was really excited about that...it folds out, totally fun!

So...I was doing something today...don't even know what, and I realized...I told Rachel that I would write to her the last two weeks at camp..and COMPLETELY forgot. A couple of fun challenge pages!

I was sick all day yesterday ...but I couldn't leave work, cause we were already short cause someone called in, so I made it through the day and came home and crashed. I slept until seven or so, and then my wonderful Sweetie went to the store to get me some chicken noodle soup and saltines, and then I ate and took a shower, and we watched some tv and went to bed. Anyway, I'm doing better today, don't feel all the way better, but good enough to scrap in my jammies (glad to have the day off) so I wanted to share these pages that I've done for some different challenges...the sisters one is for the how much is too much fabric/fibers challenge, and the other is for the freestyle blog journaling bits challenge. I like doing different challenges cause it makes me try new things! That is why I'm so totally excited about Elsie's book coming out, with 52 challenges! Yay! Anyway, I should get back to scrapping!

I had a wonderful trip to Kansas, got to see lots of friends, and finally got to see the baby! He is so much fun! So, I'm finally writing a blog, about how I finally got my desk cleaned off so that I can scrap again! I started one page last night, my bling page, with 10 different kinds of bling, and did this one of David and I this morning! I feel so productive when I get to scrapbook! Have a happy day!

That's right, I have Obsessive Odometer Disorder...it comes from my math-geek-ness, I'm pretty sure. Jason and I drove around for five miles this morning until we could get a picture of my odometer turning over 90,000, how exciting! :) I love my sweetie! My hubby and I are moving our office so that we can work on things in the same room, and we finally got the great big desk out of our closet room, and my hubby hung a bar for me today while I was at work, and I love my new closet! There is lots of place for all my shoes on the floor, it's great!
Not much going on...Elsie's classes for this weekend were moved, so that's a bummer, but they were moved to a weekend I have off, and Kristi traded me a day AGAIN, so I still get to go! Kristi is great...she traded me this weekend so that I would be able to go, and then traded me that day when I found out today that they had moved Elsie's classes.
I'll get to see my dad for Father's Day, and as I now find out, Saturday is also...I think he said, their 28th wedding anniversary! How very exciting!
Jason and I are going to have a pizza and watch a movie now, so I'll get going, I hope you like my closet!

The other day at work a friend of mine had a purse that I kinda liked...it was way too small for me ever to carry, but I liked that it had vertical ribbon stripes and thought to myself that I could totally make something like that, only WAY MORE FUN!! (and I could do it with scrapbooking supplies!) So I did. I had this purse that I had gotten at the army surplus store that I carried for a while, but it was a little boring and needed some pizzaz! So I used some ribbons, rick-rack, fabric stickers and buttons to jazz it up, it was a fun project, and it's fun to carry!

And so the fun of picking a name begins!!
I got my new camera, the Canon PowerShot 550, today, and I am SO excited! She's pretty much perfect for me, really small and really fast, I can carry it in my purse and take pictures at a moment's notice, nice big screen, really easy! I love it! The things I liked about Jason's camera is that it takes really nice pictures, and it has a turny-aroundy screen so that you can take pictures of yourself and actually know what you're getting...but his camera is a little too big for the purse...for a small one anyway, and there are just SO SO many settings! I wanted something smaller and more point-and-shoot-y...but I had no idea how small mine was actually going to be! I ♥ it!! I'm really excited...if I haven't said that yet. I decided that it wouldn't take long to pay for itself really, because I don't have to pay for each disposable camera (and I go through quite a few) I don't have to pay for the processing of bad pictures (and I take quite a few) and I don't have to pay to have my pictures put on CD each time! I will be taking my last disposable camera to Walmart for processing tomorrow, hooray! So, if anyone has names that they think I should consider for my new baby, leave me a comment!! I would love to have your ideas for consideration!
